AIBU to think that the quality of coats on the high street compared to the prices asked is shocking?

I’ve been trying on coats and some of the prices the shops charge and the quality offered are way off by a long shot. I know I should not be shocked etc but I truly am.

I agree. Some good bargains in TKmaxx though. Also if you can afford it North Face still stands up quality wise in my opinion.

It's not just coat, all the clothing is actually shocking when you compare with the ones on offer 10 or 20 years ago.

It works brilliantly for the likes of Primark, their quality is just as good as most of the high street nowadays, might as well pay the lowest price.

I fear that the concept of "quality pieces" that last for years is gone.

I don't know how much the coats you have been trying on are, but I suspect that a lot of them are actually too cheap if you want to make sure that the people who made them are paid enough.

There was a coat that I tried on that was not a lot under £200 and it was so flimsy!

The majority of my coats are from charity shops which is where you can get value for money. I was trying coats on to see what styles I suited.

I don’t in anyway mean this in a condescending way but I feel sorry for anyone having to buy clothes at the minute 95% has never been so bad badly made awful designs over priced shocking fabric I’m just relying on my old stuff
