Thinking of leaving job after a month

I left my old job in the NHS a month ago to start a new job in another hospital 15 miles away.

It is a higher level job with a better salary and much more development opportunity but equally is much more demanding with longer hours and a much longer commute. It's having a big impact on us as a family as I used to travel to work with my son and husband as we all went to the same place but now it's taking us all longer to get home from different places and we are really feeling it.

The job itself isn't what I hoped it would be for lots of different reasons. I recently found out that my old job (which I was in for 8 years) is only now about to go out to advert so I could apply to go back to my old role.

Lots of people keep saying to me that we will all adjust and I need to give it at least 6 months to get used to it. I can see the point but I'm also worried about losing the opportunity to go back to my old post if I don't take the opportunity now.

AIBU to even think of leaving when I've only been there a month?

Well, why did you leave your old job? Don’t assume it’s ‘better the devil you know’. A devil is still a devil and you wouldn’t have left if it was right for you.
