I was recently 'caught' as not having the correct parking ticket after feeding several £1 coins into a machine in a car park controlled by Napier Parking (based in Milton Keynes).
I swear I put the money in and punched in my registration but it failed time and time again. Of course they write and threaten you with £100 fine if not paid and not successfully appealed. Some of us are not so 'au fait' with ticket machines, apps etc.
I appealed on the grounds that I had indeed put several coins in and the machine was at fault but of course this was rejected so I have begrudgingly paid the £60 fine. I am totally genuine in my argument, my phone was out of battery hence I didn't use the App, but I know how these things work, why would I risk getting a huge fine, it's such an insult.
This absolutely puts you off visiting a city centre (Peterborough in this case) to park in some overpriced, poorly maintained car park overseen by cameras and administrators with no compassion and purely dirty tactics to rip people off. I swear I will never go in that car park again and am unlikely to want to go anywhere near the centre of Peterborough for shopping when it's so dire. Only place I go now is Waitrose where they kindly offer free parking whilst you shop.
Anyone else experienced cr*p from Napier Parking? AIBU in thinking they are totally unethical?
