Can anyone offer any advice regarding Al Anon

Probably posting in the wrong place but never mind.

I've posted about my mums alcoholism many times on here and always received good advice. But I feel like I need more support to come to terms with the fact that she continually lets me down and has sabotaged her relationship with me and her grandkids for booze.

There are no actual Al anon groups locally to me and even if there was I probably wouldn't feel comfortable going. But I wondered if anyone knows or any similar forums/online support? I can't find much online. I would have thought Al
Anon would have an easy to find one.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I can't offer any practical advice in finding a group I'm afraid. There are branches around the UK but without knowing where you are or what your circumstances are it's hard to give specific advice.

I would say that I went to a handful of meetings when I was coming to terms with the fact that my then husband had a drinking problem and it was enormously helpful. I don't think I ever actually spoke at the meeting but I was trying to make up my mind about whether his drinking was bad enough that I should leave (I eventually decided it was) and it was very helpful just listening to others who were going through or had gone through similar.

Just the fact of understanding that you are not alone is incredibly helpful. Wishing you the best.

I went to Smart Recovery Friends and Family Online meetings a year or so ago and found them extremely helpful. Hopefully they are still going. AlAnon May do online ones too?
I'm sorry you're going through this
