To want to get rid of my hair extensions after wanting them for so long?!

I’ve always had really short, extremely fine hair that never grew. I hated it, I could never style my hair how others could. I was desperate for long waves, long ponytails etc.

I’ve had tape extensions in for 3 months now and I loved them so much at first but I’m just struggling with them. The placement of them is awkward and I find it hard to do high ponytails etc so actually I’m rarely styling it at all (apart from the odd waves). I’ve had this checked and they are done correctly, but I have oily hair so it gets gappy quicker. They’ve gone ratty and dry at the bottoms so they just don’t look very nice. Plus, my hair has lightened to a mouse brown which is doing me no favours, but they’re really hard to dye.

I am tempted to get rid of them, but I remember how much I hated my short hair, and how much my confidence shot up when I first got them done. I don’t know if I’m just a classic case of never being happy with what I’ve got 😭

Should look into wigs. Expensive but some of them are gorgeous now.

I didn’t like tapes, in my opinion they are obvious when your hair grows even slightly and to do anything other than a low ponytail is impossible.

I much preferred my (well fitted) weave.

If you like your extensions maybe change the fitting system rather than getting rid of them altogether.

I’ve had them refitted a few times now (which is costing my a bomb - another reason to get rid) and they’re still so awkward 😭
