Is it impossible to cancel Virgin broadband or is it just me?

I've been trying to cancel for 4 weeks. Impossible to finish the damned chat thing. Call cuts me off without completing. I'm really irritated. I'm not in contract and it's costing a fortune. How can I get rid of it? Does anyone know?

Cancelling by phone is impossible in my experience.

As others said, write a letter and send it by registered post. Write clearly that you wish you cancel and that you have the right to do so. Say that you do not wish to hear from them in regard to any offers as your decision is final. Be very formal and clear.

I still had the odd phone call from them which I ignored but they did cancel my account and I was (thankfully) able to move to a much cheaper and better provider.

Google the CEO for virgin, and also their email address.

This it what I had to do after receiving a really bad service from virgin. It took me until about 3am to compose and send the email detailing everything that had happened.

I received a call the following morning at 8am from an extremely helpful lady who sorted it all out in about 3 hours from that call. She also arranged 3 months free on my package and reduced it by about half in price. She also put a stop to all the calls demanding I change my package.
