I was put on sertraline around 10 months ago, worked great but makes me pile on weight (had the same issue when I had it for pnd in the past). Unfortunately after a few months I started to get random unpredictable upset stomachs so had to swap it.
I then started escitalopram. All good until a few weeks ago when I was really struggling again. GP upped the dose from 20mg to 30mg. Commented they don't do 30mg tablets so is prescribing a 20 and a 10. My sleep was also awful and I asked for something to help but then changed my mind as I felt once I was feeling better in myself my sleep would resolve by itself.
My sleep has not resolved itself. I feel like I'm dreaming all night long, wake up knackered and I'm really struggling to get up/not fall straight back asleep. I realised yesterday this dreaming malarkey has coincided with the increase in meds. Looked at the patient leaflet and sure enough abnormal dreams is a side effect. I also noticed however it says escitalopram should only ever be a maximum dose of 20mg, does anyone know if this is correct? I guess that's why they don't do 30mg tablets.
So I'm thinking I need to switch again, does anyone know what they're likely to put me on? I don't want to pile on more weight and have no experience of other ssri's.
