Feeling wistful all of a sudden

My kids are grown up now, but there would have been an occasion that was the last time I picked them up, spoon fed them, changed their nappy, strapped them in a buggy, etc etc...

Isn't it odd that these things are mundane and insignificant at the time, and yet we don't realise when it's the very last time we'll do something, or remember when that was? And then suddenly it's years and years later...

I'm dreading when my DS doesn't want a cuddle on the sofa anymore whilst we watch a film. It makes me hug him more!!

All you can do is turn to face all the new firsts. The first interview, first wage packet, first promotion, it’s still exciting!

And they pay for you in coffee shops. Now THAT is something that is ALWAYS welcomed 😁.

I do appreciate that they're lovely adults now. ☺️

I was more thinking about how weird it is that on some random occasion I would have picked them up (etc) for the very last time, but at that time never have known that that was it, and I'd never do it again.
My brain does come up with some odd thoughts sometimes... 😁
