…to have asked him to stop turning off the fan?

At the gym this evening.

The aircon is broken so we have a large industrial fan.

There is a chap who goes to my gym who clearly has a few issues - he works out in a full tracksuit and a mask.

Today he came and turned off the big fan. Me and some others looked at each other, agreed it was odd and switched it back on. He returned and without saying anything, turned it off again. We again, switched it back on. On third third time I asked him could he please stop switching off the fan, other people want it on and on is the default.

He told me I was inconsiderate of his difficulty keeping warm. I told him it was a gym and most people get hot and he does not get to unilaterally decide that we don’t need a fan.

He went away thankfully. I usually hate any form of confrontation but I thought this behaviour was totally bizarre.

WIU?

Absolutely not unreasonable. It's very hard to cool down but he could put on more clothes if he's cold.

YANBU majority rules in situations like this, unless of course it is to accommodate a disability.

@TomatoSandwiches even then it comes down to an adjustment being “reasonable”!
