To go no contact with my mother

First time poster. I want to go no contact with my mother due to her abusive nature but I don’t know how to go about it.

To others who have gone no contact with a family member - how do I do this and make it stick? For context my mother is agressive and will not accept this.

Have any of you regretted it? Thanks in advance.

With my brother I told him (because I knew he’d be trouble) by text that I had decided I no longer wished contact with him.

That meant when he inevitably caused trouble (trying to kick my front door in, shouting abuse outside my workplace, following me to my children’s activities) I could easily show that it was harassment and the police warned him off.

It eventually took him being arrested and me getting an order to keep him away before he gave in and accepted it.

Be prepared for other people to be flying monkeys if you have other family members. It’s only now, several years on, that everyone has given up trying.
