I gained 60 pounds whilst pregnant. I have lost 40 pounds, so have 20 left to lose . Simply , I have nothing to wear .Nothing fits and I can no longer live in my maternity dresses and Birkenstocks due to weather !!!!

Currently I’m living in leggings and a few t shirts but feel absolutely crap. I’m not going to magic off the last 20 pounds before next summer - so do I buy some winter clothes ?

I feel I need a few smart jumpers, tops and possibly jeans but can’t imagine feeling good in a pair. A few skirts maybe too. Maybe a dress. I know I’ve got a good 5 months of cold weather and I am sick of feeling crappy .
I want a few classic bits to mix and match . (I usually wear dresses and boots but have a longing to stick on jeans but never feel good in them !)

Money is tight and I don’t want to use it to buy clothes I will only need for one winter . Should I accept this winter I am in leggings and old jumpers and just wait for next year then buy winter clothes??

I’m Feeling so crap!

Side note. It took me a year to lose the 50 pounds I gained with DD1 and the day I was back to my original weight I was pregnant . I have basically felt rubbish for about 2 years !!!

Buy a few things and wear them on repeat.
2 pairs of jeans or other trousers.
Do any tops you have fit? Maybe get a couple of looser style shirts that will look ok over a wider weight range.
If you have no jumpers that fit buy 2.
Do you have a coat that fits? You need to be warm.
You could aim to buy as much as possible second hand or go cheaper than you would for clothes you expect to last 5 years or more.
You could look for clothing swap events and aim to swap either maternity clothes or too-small clothes for stuff that fits now.

I would go for some slouchy jumpers, oversized dresses etc that you can wear with a big belt. I still wear some post-baby clothes now that I’ve lost the weight because they’re gorgeous fabrics, cosy (especially when I’m on) and I can make them sexy with belts if I want to show my figure off.

Buy a few things off Vinted, you can get nice stuff at such a low price. An oversized slouchy style will fit you at lots of sizes

My body changed after a baby, so even when I was the same weight clothes I had previously still didn’t fit. My rib cage got wider, my feet got bigger, stomach and hips also changed. I don’t know why I am still keeping these clothes 2yrs after birth. I’d say sell them all and use the proceeds for a new wardrobe!

Get some cheap stuff for now. Binged, Asda George, charity shops. I feel your pain as I have lost 3 stone but still hate 3 to go so don’t want to buy much but need clothes.

If you can afford it do what you want. You are not being unreasonable to want to buy clothes. Just dont buy clothes you wont wear, make sure you are happy with them so you get use out of them.

Happy shopping!

If you can afford it, I think it would be better for your mental well-being to have at least one outfit that doesn't make you feel shit about yourself.
