I feel so far from myself and I don’t get why?

Everything just seems to be bad at the moment.

I feel like I’m putting on weight although it’s not actually going up. I feel almost ballooned and inflated?
My skin is suuuper bad at the moment. I’ve always had oily, acne prone skin but I can’t even wear make up anymore without it just looking terrible. There’s no hiding it. I have so many lines and so much pigmentation.
My eyebrows are more sparse than ever.
My hair is more oily than ever, it’s getting greasy so quickly (within a day) and I can barely style it anymore.

I’m only 26 and honestly I’ve never looked worse. I have tried everything. I’m good at keeping up with my skincare, I’ve tried hair products, I eat a really good diet and I exercise.

I just don’t get it. I almost don’t recognise myself and I’ve never looked worse, both in person and in photos.

What could be going on here?

Bless you, I think this feeling happens to all of us at some point in out lives but it’s never nice! I go through periods of feeling like crap about myself and my body. It’s almost like a cycle. Have you been to a dermatologist about your skin?

Could it be your heating system?

My skin gets bad in winter and my hair. It's the certal heating that does it, not the cold.

Put a cup of water near your heaters or get a humidifier maybe?

Get your thyroid checked.

If the scales aren't actually changing and you're only 26 (and therefore won't have any substantial wrinkles) I suspect this is about your state of mind more than anything physical. Although body dysmorphia is a serious clinical condition, probably most of us have a something less serious where what we see in the mirror reflects what we feel about ourselves. What else is going on in your life? How are your primary relationships? How do you feel about your job (if you're working)? Are you getting enough sleep? What do you do that gives you a sense of fulfilment or fun?

Thank you all so much 🥺
My oily skin and hair is connected to my PCOS but it just feels like it’s ramped up over the last few weeks. It’s impossible to even style my hair anymore because it becomes gappy and wet at the scalp after a day. It’s really upsetting me every single day and taking over my thoughts

And yeah, body dysmorphia did cross my mind. Wouldn’t even know how to go about changing this!!

I am following the glucose goddess eating plan. I listened to one of her podcasts and it made so much sense. In summary, too much sugar wrecks our bodies and causes lots of hormone issues. Her diet has helped women with pcos and infertility. I am going through the menopause, am always tired and bloated and my hair is thinning. I have been doing this regime for a month now and have definitely seen some improvements. Hope you feel better soon x
