Have my tape extensions been put in badly? Or is it just how it is?

I got extensions so I could finally style my hair, but the thing is - I can’t!

I can’t wear a headband because there are tapes right at the front of my hair and they get in the way when I try to push the headband back.
I can’t wear a half-up do because however I try to do it, you can see the tapes.
I can’t wear a high or even mid ponytail because there are tapes at the very bottom of my head which can be seen.

Ive heard that tapes can be very versatile. Have they been applied badly?

It sounds like they have been put in too close to your face and neck line. I would go back and show them what you can't do and see what they say.

Most extensions have to be applied evenly throughout to achieve a natural length /thickining effect. I don't think It means they have been done badly as to wear a headband it means having no tapes until quite far back which would look odd when the hair is down I think?

Yeah there’s one right on the bottom of my hair so it’s literally touching my neck and it shows all the time. Also when I tuck my hair behind my ears there’s one in the way there too :(

The rule of thumb for any extensions is to leave a 2 finger gap from hairline before applying the tape/bonds etc. So yes they are definitely in the wrong place. Go back to your extensionist and ask them to rectify

They’ve done it totally wrong if they’re visible.
