To eat mascarpone that’s sat out all day??

Made a pavlova this morning with a vanilla mascarpone topping. Left it out on the worktop all day to be admired. Will we all get food poisoning?

Pretty sure mascarpone needs to be refrigerated but as it’s got some icing sugar mixed with it might it be okay??

It looks so pretty and everyone is looking forward to it but I obviously don’t want to make anyone sick!!

How much sugar relative to the mascarpone and roughly what temperature?

It wasn’t very warm today. You’ll be fine.

It’s fine, I wouldn’t even think twice. We often leave cheese out as it’s tastier

@Teddleshon didn’t measure the sugar! Less than 50:50 ratio. Maybe a third of the amount of mascarpone? No heating and it wasn’t warm today where we are. Quite chilly actually.

Probably OK unless your home is heated to sauna like temperatures

Sometimes when I’m uncertain I will serve something slightly questionable up and wait until after someone else has taken a bite. If they don’t gag, spit, make a horrid face, projectile vomit, etc., then I’m all in. As plans go it’s a bad one but so far it’s worked out well for me. 💪
