Too much freedom destroys us as we fail to recognise the consequences of our choices.
I know parents who expect nothing of their kids. They're allowed to run riot (like their parents, actually). That doesn't produce conscientious young adults. WfH, while I have been a beneficiary of that, I admit I take it as an opportunity to laze about. Look at emerging economies and our competitors - strong work ethic, resilience, tightness to schedule.
As for multiculturalism, I am not a racist. Crime in our cities is sky-high because what has happened isn't diverse cultures mixing, but segregation and resulting turf wars. I like multiculturalism, but not every culture assimilates at a pace fast enough for authorities to keep track of.
Not to mention our world being turned upside down with overhauling of gender and sexual norms. While I believe some of our young were genuinely misplaced on the gender spectrum, it's almost as if to not deviate from traditional norms in some way makes you unpopular nowadays.
