Looking at the absolutely awful events of the past week in Israel/Palestine got me thinking more and more about this, but it is applicable to more than just the current tragic events.
As far as I can see, it's MEN who are the perpetrators of violence. It's MEN who are taking people hostage, raping women, killing children on both sides. It's primarily STILL men in governance in most countries, so they are the ones making decisions and negotiating. And women and children are the ones who suffer from these decisions.
Have we not seen by now that men are clearly not doing a great job at this? That maybe we women would be calmer, would negotiate better, communicate better to reach some sort of agreement? Would be more considerate of the impact of actions on all?
When do we say we've had enough, let us give it a go?
