to want to receive flowers ?

I feel really childish and ungrateful, but I also just want some flowers from OH or family or friends or work.

Was rushed into hospital and spent 3 days there. Signed off to recover at home (still losing blood) and then rest, will need to have more tests, maybe a small op. Still in pain and a bit shaken up and worried.

Have had a rough couple of years for health as had cancer in 2021 so surgery, chemo, radiotherapy and then early menopause. At present it doesn't seem that this is cancer but still need to check and obviously it's a worry.

(Usually I could just buy my own bloody flowers but can't get out or go down to receive a delivery.) Totally aware AIBU but needed to get it off my chest.

Bloom & Wild send letterbox flowers in a box which fits through the door, so you don't have to get up when they arrive FlowersSmile

Channel your inner Miley Cyrus and buy yourself a big fancy bunch on the Internet

Rest up and get well ❤️‍🩹 and tell your other half, your mum and anyone who'll listen that you need flowers.

Thanks. Nice ideas. We live in an apartment without a letterbox so all our deliveries go in a box a few minutes' walk away. As I said, I can’t get up right now.

Assuming the "we" is referring to another person, not your dog or cat, surely they can get flowers for you?

Hope that you feel better soon.

Consider it a stop gap until your nearest come through for you, I get the impression you're the stoically self sufficient type, you don't lose anything to anyone by saying you're having a moment and that some flowers and well wishes would really help.

Sadly there's a lack of initiative for these kind gesture sometimes, something that's got worse now that people try to tighten their belts
Wishing you a speedy recovery
Sending lots of flowers 💐🌸💮🏵️🌹🌺🌻🌼🌷

I don't really buy people flowers much these days either, I'd be more inclined to send a small card or even a message saying I'm thinking of them and asking if I can be of any help now or in the next wee while. No flowers doesn't mean they don't care.

DominiqueBernard · 13/10/2023 16:48

That's very true, no one has any cash at the moment. I definitely don't want anyone spending/wasting money they can't afford when I'm fine, doctors and nurses have been great. I'll remember that when I feel sorry for myself.

Maybe some strong hints to your DP or would they go unnoticed? Sounds like you've had a tough time recently, you definitely have the right to feel sorry for yourself and expect a lovely big bunch of flowers 💐 xx
