To have thought I'm entitled to an advance payment (uc related)

Me and my children are homeless and living in a hotel. I've made the change of circumstances on my journal and then requested an advance payment due to the change in our circumstances because ive now got extra living expenses like storage for our stuff, washing at a laundrette, eating out every day. They have said I'm not able to have one because I have an outstanding debt of £120 with them.

I'm a single parent, no help from family or friends. Dont get paid for 2 weeks now and havent got much in terms of money because I had to pay 4 weeks upfront for the storage which is a massive £180per month.

Would I be unreasonable to ask them to reconsider?

YANBU to ask them to reconsider but they won't.

I think a change of circumstances advance would have been available if you'd gone from couple to single claim but not for changing rent payments etc

Have you tried the flexible support fund?

@RosaBaby2 no I havent heard of that, I will have a look if it's available where I live now. Thanks
