Apparently a child has been hospitalised following an incident at a school in Norwich

well, this isn't related in any way to "what's going on in schools" in genera, is it.

What's going on in schools in general is no funding, leading to no teachers staying in the job, leading to a poor standard of education as non specialists struggle to teach subjects they don't know, leading to poor relationships and general culture of poor behaviour, which in turn makes more teachers decide to leave.

What happened here is a violent person perpetrated a violent act, as has always and will always happen

It's like having a shiv in a prison!!
I wonder if the person who did it will be given just a slap on the wrist?
But I also wonder if the one who was attacked is totally innocent?
We'll have to wait for further news!

well the weapon was a tail comb which certainly looks like it could be very menacing in the same way knitting needles could be.
overall based on mn, you certainly get the impression school children are presenting with an increase in behavioral and emotional challenges.
