Why don’t they exist in shops anymore?

I don’t know but YANBU. Used to love a tinned raspberry

TheSpottedZebra · 09/10/2023 19:59

Google suggests they still exist?

dijonketchup · 09/10/2023 20:00

No idea, but I also want to know!

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/10/2023 20:01

They tended to be a bit mushy.Frozen ones are better.

longwayoff · 09/10/2023 20:07

They're still around. Try Morrisons or Tesco.

Lismore · 09/10/2023 20:07

Possibly a bit low-rent, but the family loved raspberry jelly with tinned raspberries in it, or even better, a trifle with a raspberry jelly/tinned raspberry/ Swiss roll base.

But they suddenly disappeared from the big 4 supermarkets, around the time of COVID..

Frozen or fresh raspberries just don’t have the same effect.
First world problem I know.

Off to google…

I think Morrisons has them. They def have tinned strawberries but they are awful and greyish.

Time40 · 09/10/2023 20:11

I need tinned strawberries. I haven't seen any anywhere for ages.

43ontherocksporfavor · 09/10/2023 20:12

Ooooh they definitely do black cherry pie filling. Mmmmmm

Hmmthatsgoodchicken · 09/10/2023 20:14

DD (14) decided we needed some in Asda about 3 weeks ago.
So they are about.
We have not even them yet, cos I don't really know what to have them with?!

gotomomo · 09/10/2023 20:14

They have them in larger Asda's

CMOTDibbler · 09/10/2023 20:14

I use tinned strawberries for trifle, and always stock up in Morrisons

Caswallonthefox · 09/10/2023 20:18

Don't know about tinned, but my local sainsburys do frozen

Lismore · 09/10/2023 20:23

Mmm apparently theoretically available online from Asda and Sainsbury’s, but not for delivery to my postcode.

I wonder why- has our area has gone up, or gone down on the social scale?

I used to love tinned plums. Can’t buy them anywhere now.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 10/10/2023 08:45

If I ever see tinned lychees, I buy some, and scoff them straight out of the tin.

Ditto tinned black cherries, which are always supposed to be ‘kept in’ so I have the wherewithal for a clafoutis, but they never last long.
