Do you buy birthday presents for your friends

We are all 60 & buy birthday presents for each other. We also go out for lunch or evening meal. Whilst I don't mind the expense I have simply ran out of ideas. We've done the afternoon teas, posh toiletries, wines, gins etc. We all have enough stuff for our houses, scarves, bags, jewellery etc. I've never been good at choosing presents at the best of times. Now we are getting older it's getting harder. Thank god we don't do Xmas too! Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel too mean to call time on it all, it's not the cost but just choosing something

Plants? You can never have too many plants.

A book I have loved reading and a bottle of wine usually

Let us know if you come up with way to call time on it all, I imagine many others are thinking the same

Just take a lovely bouquet of flowers? I would love a book too, but not a plant - house or garden - unless they are keen gardeners. Bottle of fizz if they are drinkers?

Books!

No, we stopped years ago. We all have the luxury of being able to buy whatever we want for ourselves when we want. Realise not everyone is in that position but birthday presents can put pressure on people.
