Yanbu candles, pups at your feet, nice glass of wine and in your comfy clothes at home.

yabu get to the pub for disco night, get dressed up, meet up with new and old friends, socialise and mingle. Local pub is 5 minute walk from home.

Personal circumstances YABU, just because i've had far too much of YANBU.

Both great at different times

PunjabiGirl · 07/10/2023 22:42

Depends on the person really. Each to their own

Me and DH would pick option 1. Stay in together and relax, but that's just us.

Mrsjayy · 07/10/2023 22:42

Well my wines finished I'm in bed pup is snoring and I have podcast on, going out would feel like the middle of the night to me! Stay home.

CatamaranViper · 07/10/2023 22:44

Both. Neither. It depends on my availability, my week, my time recently and my time coming up as a really broad sat or circumstance

mummy21blueeyed · 07/10/2023 22:45

I’d of much preferred to of gone out earlier and been back in bed by now. However nights like this random and spontaneous turn out to be the best.

liveforsummer · 07/10/2023 22:45

With a 5 min walk I'd probably drag myself out as I know I'd enjoy it once I get there. Any further/need for a can then home

Tonight1 · 07/10/2023 22:46

Depends what sort of mood you're in.

Right now, nothing would induce me to leave the house, but that's just me!

SherbetLemonn · 07/10/2023 22:47

I’ve voted YABU because that sounds so fun, but in reality, I’m a YANBU, dogs and all 🤣

XenoBitch · 07/10/2023 22:48

Can I mix them up? Dress up, meet with friends in a local pub, drink wine by candlelight and also have my dog there with me.😄

ErrolTheDragon · 07/10/2023 22:55

Either would be good, except lose the disco. I'm not a teenager and this isn't the 70sGrin

Unfortunately nowadays lacking either pup or pub.

Xmasbaby11 · 07/10/2023 22:55

Definitely out! I can stay in any time. Going out with friends gives me a huge boost.

id need a bit of notice though, by 9 I’m in front the tv otherwise and would struggle to get in the party mood.

Definitely the first one - swap pups for cats and wine for beer and you are describing me at this moment.

OnlyFannys · 07/10/2023 23:03

I think probably 75% of the time I would pick the comfy option and the other 25% I would pick the glad rags and a bit of a silly night.

Chypre · 07/10/2023 23:05

YANBU comfy option but realistically I would be washing and deep conditioning my hair, exfoliating skin, moisturising fake tanning etc - because it takes AGES and I just don't have the time during the week.

smilesup · 07/10/2023 23:07

This week I've been out three times (the pub once, a film once and to 2am last night, no disco but dancing to a band in a great venue) so I was very happy to stay in with the dogs, no wine and a big bowl of spaghetti.

Good call 😆

You can enjoy it vicariously.

The best NYE I ever had was when my best friend from primary school phoned a bit pissed quite late and said COME OUT!! So I did and enjoyed it immensely, but she was underwhelmed by it as she expected more. This was when we were 18 by the way, not in primary school.

It was one of the funniest things I'd ever seen watching one of the guys from primary school produce mistletoe and try to kiss a police woman who was telling him to sober up. She took it in good grace and confiscated his mistletoe and laughed. But I had no expectations, was sober, and enjoyed seeing the innocent jollity.

You want different things at different times

felisha54 · 07/10/2023 23:19

I like doing both. I wouldn't want to do one every week as id be bored/ fed up.

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz12 · 07/10/2023 23:40

Depends on my mood, both sound like fab nights to me!

NoNoHellaNoNoHellaNoNo · 07/10/2023 23:42

Depends on the week I’ve had but probably the latter, which I haven’t done nearly enough of since DD was born! I can relax any other night of the week.
