To think this will lead to more teacher strikes?

There was a meeting at the Dfe where the union leaders were told the 2.8%promised to schools to cover the raise in teacher pay could be reduced to 2% or lower. Also that there will be unplanned cuts to education.

As the pay rise was only accepted if fully funded and now it won't be, Heads must be absolutely panicking at the thought of how they will manage any cuts when there is nothing spare and redundancies must be on the cards for support staff, surely education union strikes must on their way.

And I am guessing this is all so there can be some sort of tax cut before the general election. If you are a parent please email your mp and say that these cuts are damaging to your children and their future.

It has been coming for a while and I really think the tipping point has now been reached. The government has pretty much succeeded in dismantling state education and is clearly bent on moving towards an online system for those who can’t or choose not to pay for a private one.
