To love Squishmallows & Jellycat as a professional mum of 3?

My name is Stylish and I have a confession to make... I buy my DC Squishmallows and jellycat teddies because I love them. Sometimes in the day when I'm WFH, I'll go and lie on DC's bed and stroke their squishies and arrange their teddies. The DC and DH think I do this so the DC have a nice 'game' set up to play when they get home, but it actually drives me mad when the DC play with them, as they play 'wrong'!

In my mind, all the JC animals have personalities, accents and friendships with one another. It's a joyful day when I can set them all up and the dog/DC don't mess with them & they're all still sat with their friends and families at the end of the day when DC are in bed.

I'm a professional in a managerial position in the financial sector, a mother of 3 and a volunteer for a charity. I have a full and busy life which I love. But I can't stop playing with teddies, and I'd love nothing more than to spend £1000s on beautiful soft toys. DH is getting frustrated with the sheer number of squishies and has been watching Stacey Solomon's BBC show where they get rid of 50% of their stuff, it honestly scares me he might try and 'declutter' my DC's teddies Sad am I alone in my weirdness? AIBU to continue to buy lovely squishies for my own pleasure?

My sister (40) has a large collection of Jellycat. I have cabbage patch kids.

Of course not. I have an orange corduroy Jellycat aardvark (called Ethel). I pretend she belongs to DGS but she absolutely doesn’t.

Not weird in fact I am jealous! It sounds great I might start lol x

I have a collection of jellycat amuseables. My kids love them too.

I bought my kids’ marble run for me. 🤷‍♀️

I have a few teddies I wouldn't let any future DC play with. They also have personalities!

I get it. My dd has a jellycat animal that she loves. I've given it, her, a voice & a personality. Dd loves it. I sometimes have to take it to work with me on dd's request! But I'm comfortable with this. Sometimes we need some escapism.

DD has loads of of JC and squishmallows. Outwardly i roll my eyes and say 'oh not another one' 'you've got far too many'. Secretly i love them and wish they were mine. She doesn't look after them the way i would... 🤪

I am with you, there is nothing strange about this!

I am obsessed with jellycats. I have been since I got my first one from the gift shop at Cliveden when I was around 9/10. It was a a huge treat as my mum couldn't afford to buy us spontaneous treats but we had taken my Nan and great aunt out for the day and my lovely Auntie Kathleen got it for me. Luckily I can continue my obsession by getting myself three youngest them for Christmas and birthdays. We have quite the collection.

My number one love as a child was Winnie the Pooh. I would love someone to buy me a set of the vintage looking cuddly toys. I would genuinely be delighted with this!

I have found my people! Occasionally perusing John Lewis on my lunch breaks when I'm in the office for new JC is another passion of mine Blush the Christmas collection is likely to impact my spending account quite considerably

I love Jellycats and enjoy buying them for DS, there is something special about them.

I also love DD's baby doll, I am her Nana and I find myself talking to her and I love giving her a cuddle.
