To ask for healthy toddler snack suggestions that are genuinely not messy?

My one year old hates the whole rigmarole if sitting in the highchair with a bib on, and so do I, so three times a day is definitely enough.

This means that I give her snacks in the living room so I need things that won't make a mess. I've got stuck in a rice cake rut so I googled and was suggested:

Cheese -this gets chewed up and dribbled back out and then she spreads it around, so I don't see trying to get cheese out of my carpet/sofa as low mess
Cherry tomatoes- these get squeezed and those bloody seeds get everywhere too
Toast -crumbs everywhere

Obviously the list writers have toddlers who will happily seat and eat neatly off a plate. I don't.

Any better suggestions please?

It's worth setting the habit now of eating at the table rather than spreading food all over!

@EachPeachPearNectarine all the advice I’ve seen also says 3 meals and 2 small snacks but I really find my 1 year old eats better at meals with no snacks. Also so many snacks are either UPF which I’m really trying to cut down on, or like you say, really messy. I’m trying to pack in loads of good, filling stuff at meals because I find trying to think of sensible, balanced snacks on top of 3 meals is just a lot of admin. If my son starts needing them I will add them, but I think 3 meals is not a bad habit.

Munchkin snackpots are a game changer...

Raisins/sultanas
Small cubes of cheese
blueberries
dried banana chips (yes I know but still relatively healthy)

Any of those tasteless Ella's kitchen puffed veggies that toddlers refuse once they have tasted a real cheesy wotsit.... Grin

Mine are a bit older now but have always loved slices of ham rolled up, the little ritz or cheddar crackers/babybel or a pepperami for the odd snack. Also plain wraps/dry cereal/natural
yoghurt with a drizzle of honey.

also partial to being chucked a bag of Pom bears/a few Jamie dodgers or fruit pastilles. Seems the more desirable the snack the less mess here… 😳

Cold cooked pasta ( choose fun shapes)
Lean meat
Mini crackers
Mini pikelets
Gherkins
Hard boiled eggs

Do you need to give her snacks? I don’t bother with my just turned one year old, he just has 3 meals.

This!

Mini purple cuttlefish, yum 😂

Thanks for all the suggestions, some really great ideas. And I'm ordering those snack pots!
