… and feeling like absolute death. Obviously I can’t take anything other than paracetamol and honey and lemon.

has anyone had the vid this late in pregnancy and been ok? I’m sure there are 100s of you but just looking for a hand hold 🥹

Please hit me with your natural remedies that got you through as midwife said that’s all I can really have.

fwiw I’m unvaccinated as horrendously allergic to the whooping cough jab, and the flu jab (stopped breathing when I had it and have a lot of medical allergies anyway) so not taking my chances having the covid jab (doctor agrees).

obv not an AIBU just posting for traffic

Ginger tea is a mild decongestant.

Can you use Vicks vaporub?
Good old warm water with salt gargle
Cold mist humidfier
Sleeping propped up slightly elevated helps me.
Nasal saline spray and or Neilmed sinus rinse.

Sorry you’ve got it. I had covid too at about 30 weeks. It was horrendous. Shivers, pains, temperature. I was worried about baby.

The worst past for me after two days. I did take paracetamol every four hours to keep my temperature down. And I’m feeding a very healthy four month old right now so it had no effect on her thank God.

I would recommend lots of paracetamol and complete bed rest. I didn’t get out of bed for two days and DH brought meals to my bed. I basically crawled to toilet only and tried to sleep through the symptoms. Have you got help? Someone to come round and do everything for you? I’ve got an older child too who DH took care of. He was especially accommodating as he was the one who went out on a night out and gave me covid!

I second the sleeping propped up. I ended up in tears due to frustration because I couldn't sleep with the cough. Everytime I laid it got worse. So I used about 4 pillows.

As for medication with pregnancy i can't help. Lots of rest and fluids. Paracetamol should help. Could you ask pharmacy if they could recommend anything?
