The constant worry about money is going to kill me, either that or raising four teenagers alone.

My daughter just said to me that she needs new clothes, she doesn't and I feel physically sick.

What do you worry about?

Is she old enough for a gentle discussion about "need" vs "want"? This shouldn't be making you feel sick.

Not sure how old your teens are but mine worked from 16 - DD3 is 15 and has a cash in hand job - that pays for their 'bits' - Primark shop, eyelashes etc!

It sucks it really does but I was raised in a hard up household and we always knew money was tight - time to have an honest discussion about income and out goings

DD2 once told me I financially abused her! I sat down and went through the lots - she then believed me (well I still think she believes I have a secret stash of designer shoes somewhere).

@satellitesunshine it really is shit, I feel so guilty that I can't take my two daughters on a little shopping trip. I can't enjoy anything as I'm always worrying about money.

@Justifiedcheese it's the not in the stomach from worrying. It's constant. My children probably know a bit too much about my finances as I tell them I just don't have it when they ask.

I got my child benefit today, 420 euro, tomorrow I have to put 100 to it just to cover my unpaid DD.

My lovely girl doesn't really ask me for anything to be fair.

@ghostyslovesheets if you're daughter thinks you're financially abuse her I don't know what she'd think of me!!
