To ask where all the sultana pancakes went from the supermarkets?

I used to love the Warburton's or supermarket own brand sultana pancakes. The ones you get in a pack of 6, spread with butter (if you're so inclined) and enjoy with a cup of tea. Lidls did nice ones.
But in the last maybe year or so, they've disappeared from the shelves. Lidl doesn't have a space for them on the shelves so I guess they've discontinued them. Our local Sainsbury's is the same. I did an online shop today (Sainsbury's) and they aren't an option. And our local Tesco's doesn't have them. They all have the plain ones.

What happened to them?! My mum used to buy them for me when I was small so they've been a staple for decades. So what happened?

tbf they weren’t on a normal shelf, they were with the bakery section stuff on a sort of wire stand

Asda sell them. Unfortunately for me, DH ate both packets that we bought

Hopefully back to food hell. Where they came from.

My local Asda doesn't sell them ;(.
I just find it very weird that any of the Sainsburys or Lidl's that I use have just removed them from their range. I miss them!

Kingsmill do them - I buy them from Asda and iceland. Also in the bakery bit in Asda they do giant ones with sultanas in

Funny, I was wondering the same thing.

Aren't they called Scotch pancakes ?

MoisturiseYourMoose · 02/10/2023 21:19

In the bin, I hope.

There’s very little as horrifying as a sultana. And they have no business ruining such a thing of wonder as a pancake.
