AIBU to do this with food shopping substituted item

I got my food shopping today and instead of getting 8 small 250ml bottles of ready made baby milk they gave me 8 large tubs of powdered milk for the same price.

AIBU to keep the substitute and give to a food bank instead. It's not like I stole it or anything.

If the food bank accepts it, do it.

You could phone them to check? With any luck they will tell you to keep them.

They sent it as a substitution, so yes, do it

Our local foodbank isn't allowed to accept formula.

I use different baby milk so I'll donate it definitely

If they've substituted it & you've accepted it, that's it, transaction over. They won't want it back. Donating it is a lovely idea

Honestly, it's the best option.

In the supermarket I work for, if you hadn't accepted it, they would have had to waste it. They can't put baby milk back on the shelf once it has left the premises. I don't know if that's a legal requirement, but it could well be.

This way, someone will be able to benefit from it.

Baby banks will accept, also health visitors will accept.
