Is it possible to rent a house for 3 months?

Is there such a thing as a short term rental property? I’m currently stuck in a difficult relationship and it’s affecting my mental health. I know I can move out on my own in 3 months’ time but I’d love to leave before that. Is there any way of renting somewhere for a short period without paying the extortionate fees of eg on airbnb?

All the rental properties I’ve seen on normal property websites have a minimum lease of 12 months.

You may be better off reaching out to properties on Air BNB or similar and ask if they'd be open to a long term arrangement. They may negotiate a better price for a fixed 3 months.

Yes Airbnb and spareroom.com do this. And me. Roughly where are you?

Serviced apartments might be another option?

Google short-lets in your area.

Was going to say exactly this. Especially now as holiday season finished.

Maybe. I'm looking for a new flat right now and when I phoned the lettings agent, she said the flat I had my heart set on was only available for a very short term let. Not mentioned in the online listing! So they do exist.

Might be worth calling some lettings agents, or RightMove lets you search by short term let.

Ring round sales estate agents and ask if there are any currently active sales chains where a property is standing empty pending completion of all the interminable processes. They might be able to sort a let out in order to help out the owner of that property.

Alternatively you could sign up to be a house sitter?

There are plenty of short term lets. In fact on zoopla you can specifically search for lets of less than 12 months.

Hope you find something fast.

Hello there! I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. You might want to look into "subletting" options. You can also check their social media profiles to gauge their authenticity. If you're still hesitant about subletting, you might want to check https://rentola.ie/ They sometimes have listings that are more flexible in terms of lease duration. Remember, your safety and well-being come first. Take your time to find a place where you feel secure.
