To ask whether your home educated autistic children still needed CAHMs involvement?

I mean, if you home educated right from the start? Did it prevent the self-harming, burn out, problems with emotional regulation, anxiety, school refusal type behaviours usually experienced by ASD kids in mainstream schools?
Sorry i know it's a broad and slightly distressing subject. I just want to know if it will be worth it for my child?

I left it too late with my eldest and she got extremely ill (stopped eating as was too stressed to eat) so she needed a lot of help. When I saw the same happening with my second I took her out of school immediately and that did help her recover quicker from the burnout

Anyone else?

We've just withdrawn our daughter from school due to burnout. CAMHS have been absolutely no help - we did get a diagnosis from them but it just confirmed the private diagnosis we'd had. Since then there has been no contact and if I ask they say they can't help unless she is suicidal

@Chrysanthemum5 I have heard very similar stories. My dd started head banging but we were told that it didn't meet self harm criteria.
I just wonder if it would have happened if we had homeschooled.
