How to stop this (mental health related)

I have health anxiety which I’m on medication for.
Im having a hard time at the moment with obsessions.
so for example I heard on the radio about a child who died of cancer and the first sign was lumps on her collarbone. I’m finding it near impossible not to check my own children for lumps on their collarbones. I’m obsessing about it and it’s all I think about.
Has anyone got experience of this and can help?

I have health anxiety. It's hard to break out of and it's so tiring and scary. Have you tried Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? It doesn't work for everything and doesn't work for everyone but it's worth a try. I was skeptical but it has actually given me a way of pulling myself out of a panic spiral and being more rational. We'll probably always think thoughts like this but we hopefully won't always let it take over like this. You have my sympathy. I know what a mental prison it is.
