To be fuming about filthy toilet at work

TheAverageJoanne · 29/09/2023 15:51

Hope this is not TMI! I put this in chat but then realised I'm so cross it should have been in here.

I just had lunch at work in the cafe and went for a wee and the toilet (single loo) stank of spray. I couldn't use it because someone had crapped and left skid marks and half their poo stuck to the sides and front of the bowl. I can't leave as someone might think it's me that's done it if they see me leave. The alternative is clean up somebody else's 💩

What is wrong with people that they don't clean up after themselves?

Why can't you use it? Unless it is on the seat?

Yes you can leave it and tell office facilities the loo needs cleaned.

Yes it is horrible someone leaving the loo like that and they shouldn't do it, but it also isn't a that big a deal for you to just get on with your own business.

GrumpyPanda · 29/09/2023 15:58

This is the work canteen? Of course you can leave, just tell the canteen staff as you go.

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 29/09/2023 16:01

Surely just get on with it! It's life

Furious indeed!

MatthewsMumFromTikTok · 29/09/2023 16:02

*FUMING!!

jeaux90 · 29/09/2023 16:08

It's disgraceful. I find mixed sex toilets are always worse than single sex.

That is so disgusting; not to mention disrespectful of whoever it was.

When my parents toilet trained me I was taught to check the toilet and wipe up anything left over; if a 2 year could do this surely an adult can!

You might be happy to use a loo in that condition but I certainly couldn't.

Do you have an all staff Email address you could use?

loislovesstewie · 29/09/2023 16:25

No one should leave a toilet in a disgusting condition. It makes me wonder if they leave their own lavatory filthy.

StaySpicy · 29/09/2023 16:25

I went to the Hard Rock Cafe today and there were 3 empty cubicles. Two had loads of toilet paper in and one had a massive turd. I had to flush one with toilet paper twice before it was empty and I could use it.

People are just disgusting.

Iamacatslave · 29/09/2023 16:25

You could have hovered over the loo seat.

BogSeat · 29/09/2023 16:26

OP. Get a grip dear. Its a turd and it's associated skid. Someone's crimped one off and it's gone beam on as it were. Not to worry. Hope this helps!

Noodledoodledoo · 29/09/2023 16:30

You sound like the teens I have to deal with daily at school as our new toilets don't have the most effective flushes. Just flush, go to the loo and get over it.

Flushing didn't work.

@BogSeat Spiffing, old bean!

Doingtheboxerbeat · 29/09/2023 16:45

The thing is that once you have used all of the available flushes to get rid of the bunged up toilet, you can't flush your own unless you spend ages in there. And that means a possible queue forming and you having to explain this to random queuers 🤭.

LlynTegid · 29/09/2023 17:06

One of the benefits of being able to work from home is that you don't have to use shared toilets, other than with your own family.

OP is justified in being upset.

cuddlebear · 29/09/2023 17:08

So if you cannot leave, are you mumsnetting from the shitty loo at the moment OP?

Dalekjastninerels · 29/09/2023 17:15

If I were Empress of the Universe I woukd make it illegal to poo anywhere except at home.

I understand this is futile. 😁

No I'm now at the hairdresser. I cleaned it with lots of bog roll stuffed down the sides and the toilet brush provided which was minging. I hate toilet brushes and never have one. Then I looked outside to see if anyone was outside and managed to leave without anyone seeing me. I'm paranoid anyone thought it was me. I only went in for a wee!

Gingernan · 05/11/2023 20:05

I agree,it's horrible,I'm an office cleaner and sometimes the loos too.Theres so much carelessness an d sometimes deliberate mess. I expect to clean it,and we do, but sometimes feel like a nannies, which is not on. We have toilet brushes in every cubicle which are not at all disgusting they are kept clean and changed frequently. Should mention to op,she might hate toilet brushes but it's very embarrassing for visitors if there isn't one and they need to tidy up after themselves, maybe have an upset tum or ibs. My mum in law kept hers in the garage and rather than do the mad dash to retrieve it I would clean up with a hand wrapped in paper. Grim!

Frostine · 05/11/2023 20:10

I'm not a pooer in a public loo unless an absolute necessity , but would always make sure I left the loo as I'd hope to find it.
Op you have a minger in your midst.

MilkWithTheBiscuits · 05/11/2023 20:26

I don’t get why some people mistreat public places so badly. Last week I needed the toilet at work and so went in only to find a blob of poo near the rim of the toilet seat! I had to do the hover poo technique!

BitOutOfPractice · 05/11/2023 20:27

I’m prepared to bet a considerable sum that it was a man.

Clearly you’ve never experienced IBS
lid love to only poop at home
or even make it as far as a public toilet
Unfortunately for me and people like me, sometimes even thst is not possible and it is humiliating, degrading and stressful …
please don’t confine people like me to their homes and never being able to go out by your lack of understanding on conditions like this

Actually I make it a point of principle to poo at work at least once a day, although I do make sure it is thoroughly flushed before I leave, even if it takes a few attempts, as our flushes are weak - I get a certain personal satisfaction using company time productively for my own welfare 😁
