To be swayed by an advert? What adverts do you remember working on your psyche?

Ages ago, Lea and Perrins saying to stick it on cheese on toast. I don't eat cheese and didn't even know that L and P was essentially Worcester sauce but now when I make cheese on toast I always add jt automatically.

AIBU to be so swayed by an old advert? Do you remember snippets of old/current adverts having a strong impact on your behaviour (whether that is purchasing behaviour or just in general?)

Rather sadly, yes.

My Parents used to listen to a local radio dedication show every Sunday daytime.
Must have been late 70's early 80's.
As an overweight primary age child, I remember hearing the radio ad for a product called "Ayds" that would help you lose weight. It played a lot.
I really wanted to go shopping on my own (although I was too young and only had small amounts of pocket money) and secretly buy some.

I still remember this now and it makes me sad the influences young girls have now.
