Please don't be unkind.
If the storm has already passed, I'm curious as to why we still get strong stormy winds and torrential rain?
Is there an explanation for this ?
They said on news storm has passed but its really gusty here today and my signal has been going off

Because the actual storm cell has passed, you now just have bad weather

You can still have a windy/rainy day without it being an official, named storm - caused by low pressure in the atmosphere.

There are specific degrees of severity for a named storm, so they just mean that the period that's bad enough to be officially classified as a named storm has passed. Now we've just got generic stormy weather that doesn't quite meet the criteria for a name.
