To want to spend more on my son's bed

We're buying my son a bigger bed from Ikea. I want to spend more and buy a storage bed. My husband wants to get the cheapest bed possible and then buy storage boxes to put under it. We're going to get a good mattress. He just doesn't see the point in spending more on the bed.

If its the white one with the drawers. We have them for pre teens and they are fab. Draws hold loads and you can lift the mattress and put storage boxs down the other side
