Is anyone else so bored of living through phones?

People going to events and singing along to songs into their phones whilst looking at the camera is the biggest one I don’t understand.
Filming a whole concert, or firework display, or anything similar.
Having to take pictures of food or drink.
Having a photoshoot at any sort of landmark. I’m all for pictures for memories, but i see so many girls making their other halves take millions of pictures and videos from all angles.

The worst part is so many of my friends are unable to sit at a table together without scrolling on their phones.

Is it just me?

Around 20 years ago (!) I went on a whale watching boat trip. I spent my time trying to photograph the whales rather than just enjoy the experience - and I barely took a single decent photo.
Even since then I've tried to be conscious of capturing memories in my head and being present in the moment.
I'm not sure I could put up with someone scrolling through their phone whilst out for dinner. I'm obviously old-school but that's rude and bad mannered.

I went to Musee D'Orsay last week. So many people taking photos of works of art or selfies beside them but not looking at the art itself. Same at concerts. It's like if you don't view through a phone lens it didn't happen .... Weird Imo

Just so frustrating. I went for a meal the other day and the restaurant were playing good songs, I look around and everyone is holding up their phones and singing into the camera.
I also went to a pub quiz the other day and, in the break, all my friends are just scrolling on their phones

I aim for a balance. I have a terrible memory so I want to live in the moment but also have pictures to jog my memory in future.

I’m the same, don’t get me wrong I like taking pictures and keeping photo albums. But I’ll take a few of an event, not constantly filming every part

Not just you. It’s so annoying wanting to take a photo of a famous view or landmark and waiting for someone taking ages to get the perfect selfie while pouting and striking ridiculous poses. Phones have turned people into narcissists.

Yes. Add to this: friends only wanting to text or do phone calls rather than meet up. I want to see them in person, not send stupid memes back and forth.
