So seriously. Has the internet helped? It’s a massive yes from me, but how do we temper these advantages with those that believe in anything ‘written’ down. This includes my 80+ mum, a supposedly ‘intelligent’ woman, who (v low level) inspired many during the 60s. I really despair at how the internet, as well as enabling freedom of info has been countered by radicalised individuals that have an almost religious zeal to spread crap. So since a certain person’s outing as a shit human being have there been more trolls than normal that MN HQ is struggling to police?
there is a certain thread approaching its maximum contributions. There are a couple of individuals who stand out! How can we and MN determine if they are individuals who have researched the area of conflict (seriously unlikely given their comments) or trolls ( so are they having a massive laugh at our interaction). Or are these individuals seriously misguided individuals in which case.
Is it right that individuals have tried to counter their arguments and show them that pure science is the way? Ive watched my mum get so confused by online information. Agreed she grew up in a world where spreading false info was litigious, but the internet doesn’t have the same controls. Equally it’s been fascinating watching the debate over RB. So many passionate individuals making extremely obvious arguments as to why the man is a low life. Yet there are couple of individuals who consistently fight back despite the evidence. Are these individuals low life trolls? Are we wasting our time to their enjoyment? But if not then what is the solution?
