To not want my DC to play with these children

This sounds horrible I know but my DC (4)is in school and we live on the next road from a DC child in the same class as him. (YR) He has older siblings and they swear and shout and always saying shut up. They chuck their empty yoghurt drinks/crisp packets all over the garden etc and don’t have any boundaries, picking my DC up and very rough with him. Their mum does not supervise. They also chucked his bike hard down on the floor. I know he doesn’t have to play with them but he is fond of their younger brother in his class and they are close friends in school. What would you do?

Don't let your DC hang out with them. Always put your child's well being and safety first. He's young enough to make new friends - maybe join a class, extra curricular activities etc

I would discourage the friendship by not facilitating them playing outside of school and not mentioning this child unless your DS does. Invite other children round and direct him that way.

At 4 surely he's not going out to play by himself though? So unless your asked for a playdate I wouldn't worry
