Ice cream and two chocolate biscuits AIBU to think that’s enough ‘treats’ for a 2yo?

DH and I disagree about food, I honestly think if I died DS would live off ice cream, sweets and biscuits.

whenever we’re out DH insists on getting DS an ice cream, which is annoying as they don’t generally come in toddler sizes. So DS had an ice cream at the park, then we get home and he wanted a biscuit so I did let him have one and then another. He wanted more but said no. Had tea and yoghurt. Then DH was asking him if he wanted ice cream again.

I am not being unreasonable here, am I? I’m worried about his teeth.

You are right. Toddlers need small portions tp est and very few treats. Some people over feed to show their love, but this will be damaging. Try to explain to your DH that too many treats will be detrimental to toddler's teeth and weight, and form unhealthy relationships with food. I hope he listens, good luck!

I wouldn't just be worried about his teeth. It's the eating habits that he's developing and two ice creams and two biscuits in addition to all of your DS's regular meals will be leading to an excessive calorie intake.

Have you had your 2 year HV check up? Perhaps you could get some info from them on a healthy balanced toddler diet of your DH isn't willing to listen to you.
