Hand foot and mouth quarantine

Finding conflicting info online about this. Dd has suspected hand foot and mouth but only a few blisters. Maybe 5 on her hands one on her foot. There have been confirmed cases in nursery.

Do I have to quarantine her? Nursery dont send the kids home with it. I wouldn't go anywhere like soft play where she could pick things up but I was meant to be going swimming with friend and her baby at the weekend and now im wondering if I need to cancel.

The severity and response to it seems to vary a lot!

It’s very contagious, I would avoid swimming pools and other public places for a while

There is no isolation period for HFM. As long as they are well in themselves then you can do and go wherever you want.

We had this recently. The GP said it would have been more contagious before you could see the spots, so no point quarantining as it was too late.

Perhaps I am biased as my sister in law caught HF&M from a public swimming pool once and it was so painful for her

You don’t need to isolate but no, I wouldn’t go swimming with her and definitely not with a baby.
