I went to an all girls' private school. I'm in touch with a group of friends I've known since 3 years old. We're all now 29/30. We all went to uni but then came back to live at home with our parents - who are all friends with each other - well our mothers are, realistically.
Anyway I don't know why exactly - one friend thinks it's the way we've been brought up but we've always been on the whole 'shrinking violets' and lacking in confidence and very inexperienced with the opposite sex Anyway one of our original group got married - she doesn't mix with us now - but when her name came up at a recent social evening one of the girls in the group said - "she's the only one that's ever done anything grown up". I felt instantly annoyed with this as one of the group has recently put down a deposit for a flat but that doesn't 'count' maybe? - another one one spent a lot of her childhood caring for her disabled sister. I'd never say this personally and I feel it's an immature thing to say. AIBU?
