Hi,
Was meant to start work today after training at weekend. (seemed an easy enough to do job but we were a large group of nearly 30 and 1st day the training team become so stressed by us they said we need to leave IT systems and crack on learning the job otherwise you all won't be compliant to start come next week was reasoning, under the it'll all be ok)
It's a role when you have to use your own equipment, not company provided so I appreciate IT can't just jump on and take over laptop control.
Since 08:30 I've just been sat staring at my screen, I can get into what I'm sure it probably known as the VPN but no further. I've lost the entire day, totally get not good, it's crazy the organsiation have paid for a DBS for each of us, couldn't they have sat us all together in a teams or zoom meeting?
I was in touch with my Manager (only have email but suppose better to have that as proof) but they stopped responding mid-morning. I tried to get hold of IT but that just had an automated message to await manager reach-out. When IT called as a one at a time, third way conversation I couldn't help but think they were getting stressed out and left me unistalling and reinstalling the vpn.
The recruitment seemed to be carried out at all different locations all around the UK so I'm unsure who to esculate to in the organisation, if I don't get the email firing me first. Equally I can't bare another day like this, totally running my confidence down, hoping I was going to be doing the job. I didn't have to claim I knew back end of systems to get job, just that I owned the equip to do the job.
Is this typical of work from home setups where you supply the equipment?
