Had it, loved it, rear faced my twins til they were 3 in it 👍 I loved that you put them in, then spin it, I have a bad back and a Honda Jazz (not some ridiculous 4x4) so it was really helpful to be able to do that.

@Newusernameforthiss thanks so much!

I have that one for my son. He’s now just shy of two, been using it since birth, and I’m still really happy we chose it. So much easier being able to spin it to get him in and out (particularly as he’s a big lad, always has been!) and adjust the recline to suit the stage he’s at. Plus I like that you can take out the inserts etc when they get bigger!
So many people said I’d regret not getting one that you can just lift in and out, attach directly to the pram chassis etc but I never once have thought that. I have a bad back so wouldn’t want to be lugging a car seat anyway!
Going back to him being a big guy, he’s 3ft tall and weighs about 2.5 stone (bit more now perhaps) and still seems very comfortable… he’s never fought me trying to load him into the truck anyway! He’s still rear facing and while I appreciate if he keeps growing like he is, keeping him rear facing til 4 may be unrealistic, I am going to try to keep rear facing as long as possible for the safety reasons.

I had this one for my grandchildren, the turning feature was a godsend the eldest was in it until she was about 4.5 (she was very short & slight) the younger one was 3.5 she is much taller though throughly recommend.

DD has just outgrown hers and I miss it so much. Turning it round makes it so easy to pop them in and tighten the straps. It's been brilliant.

Thanks all!! Going to get this one now :)

We have this for our 2 year old. We got it when he was about 7 months old and I wish we'd had it from birth to be honest! It's a bulky pain in the arse to set up initially but once in its great. The swivel is smooth and works well rear or forward facing.

We'll be using it from birth with baby number 2.

BertieBotts · 24/09/2023 23:39

You might have already ordered it by now but while this is a good seat, I think you can get better for the same price.

Britax Dualfix Plus, Britax Dualfix Z-line
Cybex Sirona S2, Cybex Sirona Gi
Maxi Cosi Mica Eco

All of these have an anti-rebound bar, nicer harness to use too.
The Mica Eco has recycled fabrics.
Britax Dualfix Plus has slightly higher weight limit at 20kg (all the rest are 18/19kg).
Cybex Sirona S2 is known to have a short back length so not so good for taller children. I don't know if it's improved in the Gi version.

The benefit of the Joie is that it is very compact. But that tends to mean less leg room for children rear facing.

If you're not using it from birth but from around a year you might also want to consider the following non-spinning seats which will last longer:

Axkid Move
Britax Multi-Tech 3
Avionaut Sky Q

We went for the i-spin safe, which is very similar but doesn’t forward face (there is no need to ff until the seat is outgrown anyway) - which is one of the safest seats on the market.

Yes, I have this for my grandchild. Highly recommended.
