Reading too much Erotic Literature: Is It Just a Phase?

Hello
First off, I've changed my username for obvious reasons. Now, onto my little confession. Over the past few months, I've been quite engrossed in erotic literature. It started as a casual read, but now it's become a regular part of my evenings, especially when my DH works his night shifts. It's my little escape.
But here's where I'm a tad concerned. I've started to feel that this newfound hobby might be affecting the spark between my husband and me. It's got me wondering: is this just a passing phase or am I getting addicted.
I genuinely love my husband, and the last thing I want is for my reading habits to create a wedge between us. I'm hoping to find a balance but don’t know how?
If anyone's been in a similar boat or has any advice, I'd love to hear it.

If it's affecting your marriage, drop it. Now.

Though this stinks of an OP wanting salacious replies...

Yes, I used to read and wrote slash from about 10 years old until I was about 52, but since the menopause I have zero interest in it. It does go away.

I gave up erotic literature after I realized I was starting to compare my poor partner negatively to the heroes. Haven’t picked one up since and am a lot happier for it.

If it’s damaging your relationship, it sounds problematic.

In what way is it affecting your relationship? Do you mean that you're getting all your sexual satisfaction from reading porn while your husband's at work and therefore don't want sex when he's home? Or do you mean that you're comparing your husband to the men in the books you're reading? Or are you questioning your sexuality?
