I've been contacted by a recruiter who want me to apply for a job. All my skills and experience match. So I need to update my cv.
Should I even bother?

New job.
Hybrid 1 day max in office. Its a step up with line management responsibilities.
1hr commute. £75k

Current job
Wfh except every few months travel to office 5 hrs away ( with hotel stay)
Easy job could do it in my sleep. Lovely coworkers. A bit boring. £55k

I'm thinking of applying and see what happens? Would you apply or stay where you are?

Aibu- stay in current job
Ainbu- apply for new job

Of course you should apply. See what happens. Think about it in the meantime.

Do you want line management responsibilities?

Stressedgiraffe · 13/09/2023 17:45

Yes I think so. I'm already doing 1-1 with my team, responsible for holidays, planning and allocating work.

Turn it around - why would you not apply for the new job?

ScarlettSunset · 13/09/2023 17:52

Apply for the new job. You don't have to accept it if it's offered to you, if you decide it's not for you after applying.

If the recruiter has a trustworthy/ respectable reputation it doesn't hurt to apply and see.
