How often do you have team catch ups?

We have team catch ups 3X a week over teams and I just think it’s too much. Some days I want to not have to get ready and not be chatty but I’m forced too. I wouldn’t mind but they are extremely awkward no one really has anything to say.

how often do you have them in your team?

Daily our small team and then twice a week the wider team. I could lose one of the wider team ones, I don't mind the daily small team ones

Once per week Monday, then open communication on Slack without a schedule.

I'll occasionally schedule one for a Thursday or Friday if we're about to have a long weekend or someone is about to be on holiday, but that's rare.

Until recently, we had one weekly 1-1 and one weekly team huddle. We were a team of 3. Manager + colleague and I.

Unfortunately we had a restructure and manager was moved. I miss him!
Remaining colleague and I were ported to another team. New manager has no idea what we do and neither do we at this point! New team doesn’t do huddles.

I think catch ups are viral for getting (and staying) on the same page.

Our team is only 3 so once a week, often the COO will join for half depending on the agenda. 1-2-1 once a week mainly, but managers are available for catch ups whenever. It’s quite informal.

We don't have team catch ups, we just speak to our colleagues as and when we want/need to..

NDWifeandMan · 13/09/2023 17:51

Twice a week. One . an hour for going over workload/priorities, one 30 mins for 'social'. Usually just announcements on org-wide things like mandatory training, events/workshops to look out for, etc. If no agenda we discuss industry news.

Once a week- and then once a month for regional team meeting. It was 2-3x a week in lockdown and that was too much!

KrisAkabusi · 13/09/2023 17:57

Every Friday. It marks the start of the weekend.

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 13/09/2023 18:01

30 mins daily on teams just for chit chat and general colleague support.

2 hours once a month face to face for a formal team meeting with an agenda.

ChimChimeny · 13/09/2023 18:03

Weekly 1:1 with manager, weekly with immediate team (3 of us, mainly to chat about our weekends) and one with wider team.
Them wider again quarterly (300ish people)
I wouldn't have enough to say to my team three times a week!!

Nevermind31 · 13/09/2023 18:07

Daily 15 min huddles, workload, priorities, who has capacity

WhiteFire · 13/09/2023 18:12

I count myself lucky if I even get an Hello from my manager. 😕

The rest of the team have regular meetings, I'm never invited. My role is somewhat different to theirs but I am very much an outsider.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 13/09/2023 20:31

We have a weekly drop in. You don't have to go if you don't want to but most people do. Maybe because it's optional people feel more comfortable about it.

bananaboats · 13/09/2023 20:39

Once a week and they are mostly a waste of time

coxesorangepippin · 13/09/2023 20:40

M/W/F

Not much usually happens from Fri to Monday though....

MoonlightMuse · 13/09/2023 20:42

Daily for up to 30 mins. 2.5 hours once a fortnight. F2F (as we’re all around the UK) every 3 months.

ZoeyBartlett · 13/09/2023 21:06

Daily - a formal one on Monday for an hour and 30 min informal tue - thur plus virtual lunch together on Friday. If you are busy you can skip. It's just a good way to keep team together given the hybrid working.

MrsJBaptiste · 13/09/2023 21:12

Weekly team meeting (whole team)
Weekly 1-2-1 with my Line Manager
Weekly operational meeting with my Line Manager
Weekly meeting with 3 Managers at my level
Weekly 1-2-1 with each of my direct reports (5)

Around 7 hours of catch up meetings a week... no wonder I never get anything done 😳

babbscrabbs · 13/09/2023 21:17

Have about 3 calls and one f2f per week in with whole team for specific topics, then ad-hoc meetings 1-2 x PW, then client team calls once per week and most people are in at least 6 client teams. Usually have about 12-16 team calls or client meetings of some iteration per week.
