A long story , I do have previous posts about it so I won’t go through it all again.

But one of my husbands injuries after his accident is his shoulder . It was broken and he had surgery . Then he fell at home and further damaged his broken hip and shoulder .

We were only told that there was further damage to his shoulder as he was being discharged from hospital the second time , after the fall. We were not told by a doctor , nothing official just a comment in passing by a nurse . 3 days after discharge we had an appointment at another hospital about his hip. At the end of that appointment we mentioned his shoulder and the doctor was confused , he looked at X-rays and called a specialist in who said he needed surgery asap , he will have already permanently lost 20% function and if it’s left he will lose all function so he emphasised the importance of surgery being asap . He said “ end of this week or early next week “ this was on a Tuesday over 2 weeks ago. Also this was based on scans done when he was admitted to the previous hospital 2 weeks before so as it stands that’s over a month ago .

We have heard nothing , I have tried chasing it and nothing . Today I spoke to someone who basically told me there is no record of surgery on his notes and nothing is booked in so I’m waiting for a call back . This is disgusting. He has more pain now and can move it less than he could before , what’s to say it’s not too late ? Over a month ago the scans showed that he will have lost 20% function and it’s actively deteriorating! We have already been told that without a replacement he will have lifelong mobility issues with his hip and permanently need sticks , how is that going to work if he then also has an arm with no function!

I can’t believe he has been treated this way , I am at a loss of what to do .

Terrible , I'm so sorry.
I wish I could offer advice but I can't .
Sadly I think this is how things are now.
