A handful of our relative just seem to criticise every single effing thing we do.

Why are you painting your walls that colour?
Why are you going there on holiday?
You shouldn't go to that restaurant
Why do your dc play football they should play rugby
You shouldn't have bought your house the third bedroom/kitchen/garden (changes every time) is too small
No I don't like the way you've had your hair done it's not my cup of tea
Why are you eating that you should eat this
Ugh you don't have sugar in your tea
Then a month later, sugar in tea is revolting don't even suggest it

Seriously? Why does this matter?

Just ignore.

Yeah, it sounds like you know too many arseholes! Giving a preference on sugar in tea or restaurants seems reasonable enough. But the rest are just being rude. I'd say don't invite them round if they hate everything so much!

TheFinerThings · 11/09/2023 22:35

Well if they are all related it’s likely to do with how they were raised. A shame they are all so negative, must be a miserable way to be!

What negative consequences do these behaviours have for the commenters? Or are you just smiling and nodding, or actually defending your pant colour or holiday destination?
