In the past one month I've had two companies shirk off warranty claims which I think are legitimate. Anyone else noticing this trend?

2 year old Fissler saucepan with lifetime guarantee. Non stick is wearing off so I sent photo and receipt to Fissler. Fissler replied they can see from the handle I used too high a heat so warranty not valid (wtf it's a saucepan). Bought from Amazon who only help within 12 months.

6 month old + 2 weeks suitcase. Wheel came off when I was on the train en route to airport. Contacted company who said accidental damage not warranty claim. Bought from ebay who only help if bought < 6 months ago.
I am assuming they are being more difficult because their profits are down but surely these are legitimate claims - how do they get away with denying people this??
